The Developer Options menu is normally not visible in the settings of the device, once unlocked allows you to access all those functions that will allow you to make the most of your Android device. Be careful though this menu is born above all for the developers, so my advice is to go really slow through the article and not to change settings that you do not really know what they are for.
Developer Options and How to Enable It
In developers menu, you can activate various very interesting functions that serve mainly to keep an eye on your device. Unlocking this menu is really easy; just perform the following operations on any Android device:
• Access the Settings of your device
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the Info item on the device
• Quickly find and touch the Number Build item 7 times (it may vary from device to device)
This new menu will appear in the settings of your Android device. Being a section dedicated mainly to developers, my advice is to proceed with caution and not to change settings that you do not know because they can really cause the crash or the abnormal behavior of the device and applications on it.
The menu and some of the functions
The functions are divided into 9 sections
1. Main
2. Debug
3. networks
4. Input
5. Drawing
6. Rendering with hardware acceleration
7. Multimedia content
8. Monitoring
9. Applications
Now we will see some of those that I think are the most interesting features.
Desktop backup password : Allows you to avoid anyone who connects the device to a PC, to back up your data.
USB debugging : This function will allow you to install applications on the device without notification, to read log data and to copy data between the computer and the device itself. My advice is to always activate it because in case of break of the touch would allow access to data on your device.
Aggressive Wi- Fi / data transfer: This function allows you to switch wifi, if the Wi- Fi network signal to which you are connected is weak it automatically connect to stronger one .Pay more attention to this function because if you have a subscription with limited data traffic, you risk that the data threshold will soon be exceeded.
GPU Rendering Profile: It allows you to selecting the Show on screen as a bar item , thanks to the graph that will appear below it will display the graphical performances in real time.
Limit background processes: This mode is useful for users with low memory it allows users to limit memory usage. By default it is set to Standard limit but you can choose between none and 4 processes.
Processing Statistics: This mode is among the most important because it allows you to monitor all the processes of your device by providing as a percentage even about how much CPU has been used.
Strength Direction Layout RTL: This mode is useful only and especially for left-handed users, allows you to rotate the entire graphical interface by moving all the keys to the left so as to allow it to be reached more easily by all left-handed users.
Animation customization: This mode allows users to speed up window animation. In fact, setting the animation scale for window - transaction - animation items to 0.5x , you can make everything smoother and you will see all the resizing animations.
Force Rendering GPU: In case you have applications that have speed drops in the animations, this mode allows to force the processing of all these animations. By activating it, you will transfer all the processing weight from the CPU to the GPU (graphics processing unit ).
These features that I have just illustrated are the most interesting and comfortable features. There is nothing else to say except that you are ready to explore all this menu and to monitor your device in more detail.
